Linseed Vanilla “Kipferl” – MAYRLIFE Style
(Makes approximately 800 g)
This year, Christmas baking gets a healthy twist with our delicious Linseed Vanilla "Kipferl" (crescents) – MAYRLIFE style! Enjoy the perfect blend of traditional flavor and modern, wholesome ingredients. The recipe is easy to recreate at home, filling your kitchen with the comforting scent of the holidays – without any guilt. Treat yourself and your loved ones to a sweet taste of health and be inspired by the unique MAYRLIFE cuisine.
For the dough:
- 250 g cold organic ghee, diced (or 250 g organic vegan butter)
- 350 g smooth organic spelt flour
- 2 tbsp organic cornstarch
- 100 g finely ground organic linseeds
- 100 g finely ground organic panela sugar
- 20 g Bourbon vanilla bean paste
- A pinch of rock salt
Vanilla sugar coating:
- 125 g whole linseeds
- 100 g organic powdered sugar
- 1 packet of organic vanilla sugar
- Knead all dough ingredients into a smooth mixture, wrap in cling film, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Shape the dough into a roll about 2 cm thick. Cut the roll into 1 cm pieces and shape them into small crescents ("Kipferl").
- Place the crescents on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake at 160°C for 10–15 minutes, until the tips of the Kipferl are lightly browned.
- For the vanilla sugar mixture, roast the linseeds in the oven at 160°C for about 6–10 minutes, then allow them to cool completely. Once cooled, blend the linseeds finely with the remaining ingredients.
Gently coat the cooled Kipferl in the sugar mixture.
